For carefully selected patients with severe and disabling hyperhidrosis that has not responded adequately to conservative treatments, surgery may offer a long-term solution.

Patients from the United Kingdom and other European countries can be assessed remotely before travelling to France for surgery.

Dr Thibaut Coste is a French surgeon with specific experience in the surgical treatment of hyperhidrosis.
He performs both:

Hyperhidrosis Surgery in France for European Patients
Patients living in Europe can contact the centre directly for an assessment. It is not necessary to travel to France simply to determine whether you may be suitable for surgery. The first stage can usually be performed remotely.
Step 1 — Initial Contact
Contact the centre and provide basic information about your hyperhidrosis:

how long you have experienced excessive sweating;

impact on your everyday life;

treatments previously attempted;

relevant medical and surgical history.
Medical documents can be provided when necessary.
Step 2 — Remote Consultation
An initial video consultation can be organised with Dr Coste on Whatsapp. The consultation allows you to discuss your symptoms, previous treatments and expectations. Dr Coste can explain whether thoracic or lumbar sympathectomy may be appropriate, as well as the potential benefits, limitations and risks of surgery. This consultation takes place before you organise your journey to France.
Step 3 — Surgery is Scheduled
If surgery is considered appropriate and you wish to proceed, the medical team will organise the necessary pre-operative assessment and propose a surgical date. You will receive information concerning:

STEP 4 — Your Stay in France
For international patients, surgery is scheduled on a Tuesday. We recommend arriving in France on Sunday, as an in-person consultation with Dr Coste and the anaesthetist is required on Monday, the day before surgery.
You will be admitted to the clinic on Tuesday morning for your procedure and will usually stay in hospital for one night. You may travel home from Wednesday afternoon, provided your postoperative recovery is satisfactory.
For patients undergoing thoracic sympathectomy, air travel is not recommended during the first 15 days after surgery. We therefore recommend returning home by train or another suitable means of transport rather than flying during this period.
For patients travelling from the UK, returning by train via Paris and Eurostar to London is a convenient option.
STEP 5 — Follow-up
A follow-up video consultation will be organised with Dr Coste on Whatsapp, in the meantime you stay in touch with Dr Coste via Whatsapp chat.

In option: single room 85€ per night
Travel to France, accommodation outside the hospital and other personal expenses are not included. A personalised quotation is provided before surgery. There is no obligation to proceed with surgery following the initial consultation.
